2024 Guide
With a few years under our belt, we finally think we can provide some guidelines for submitting your ideas to the competition. Out of the hundred or so valid submissions that we see each year, a couple of patterns have developed.
Tips & Tricks
- Ideas do not have to be "finished" to submit. However, if there is any doubt that you could complete the idea in time for the event, it will count against you.
- There is no limit to the submission - get your point across as effectively as you can.
- If you are a customer, you have a leg up -- we LOVE customer submissions.
- If you are a partner and would like to co-present with a customer, we'd LOVE that too.
- Presentation skills matter. We listen to your ability to present your content to us in the semi-final rounds. It's very important for us to determine if you would be good presenter.
- Make us go "wow!" If we go wow, the session audience will go wow too.
- Multi-solution submissions are favored over single solution ones. AEM+something is always (sometimes?) more compelling than just AEM.
- View last years' finalist submissions and learn from them. They did something right.
- LIVE demos are an important way to get your idea across.
- Open source code available as a take-away for the attendees (if applicable).
- Tool projects are generally well received. If you've created something that makes things easier/better, submit it.
- Don't present a solution to a problem that doesn't exist or has already been fixed or addressed.

Example Submission
Submission Title: Integrating AEM Commerce as a Cloud Service with AEM Asset Compute service
Submission Body:
This submission will demonstrate an integration that I built that takes commerce data from Magento via the commerce cloud service and integrates custom manipulated images from the asset compute service seamlessly. This integration makes managing a large scale commerce site in AEM a breeze.
This submission will be fully demoable with sample source code and downloadable assets for the audience to use or reference.
